Within the Erasmus+ program, our university encourages our partner institutions’ academic staff to teach or research and administrative staff to spend a a week with professional program in the University of Pécs Faculy of Business and Economics. The Visiting Scholar Program is open for scholars from the Faculty’s overseas partner institutions. The program is organized with the special purpose of creating ideal conditions for lecturers who wish to share ideas, methods of education and study material with the faculty and students as well as capitalize on professional development. Visiting scholars bring considerable contribution to the Faculty’s cultural diversity. The scholars strengthen the international profile of the Faculty, facilitate diversification and provide students with the possibility of international experience at home.

The Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Pécs is organizing an international teaching week every spring. The idea of establishing this event is besides providing our students international experience at home, to have the opportunity of discussing two hot topics in today’s higher education. Apart from guest lecturing all participants are kindly asked to contribute to at least one of the main topics of the event by either delivering a speech on the academic plenary or participating and presenting relevant good practices on the workshop of the program.

Mobility and internationalization are key aspects of the Bologna process and at the same time strategic aims of the Faculty, too. The two-way mobility of scholars facilitates the advancement of the Faculty. Teaching staff and post-doctoral mobility result in spectacular professional development for the grant holders. Host and home universities receive new ideas concerning the curricula and the courses, acquire new practices, which then lead to a higher degree of innovation in teaching and research. Outgoing scholars, on the other hand, can broaden their horizon with good practices, methods of teaching and fields of research.
In the framework of the Erasmus+ program faculty members can spend a maximum 5 working days at any of our more than 70 partner institutions. During the mobility period professors shall realize at least 8 hours of teaching by delivering guest lectures, providing consultations or supervisory sessions for 5 days.
The Faculty of Business and Economics supports its teaching staff in gaining international experience, which nowadays is indispensable. Visiting scholars are a considerable contribution to the any faculty’s cultural diversity.
Visiting scholars can actively join the scientific activities of the Faculty of Business and Economics, deliver workshops and tutorials on methodology, preferably connect to the curricula of the Faculty’s BA Business Administration and MSc Applied Management programs.
The Visiting Scholar Program is announced in October each year. The application period closes in November and selected applicants are notified by mid December. The program runs in the spring semester of each academic year .
The International Teaching Week is held in April every year with a varied focus on the most relevant topics from the point of view of business education. It provides students, who cannot participate in mobility programs, with international experience. The International Teaching Week is an excellent opportunity for partner institutions to get informed about Faculty activities and boost international cooperation. International Teaching Week also makes networking possible for representatives of institutions from abroad.
