A hackathon brings together creative, open-minded people with an entrepreneurial mindset from different disciplines. During an intensive business development sprint, participants work in teams to find a solution to a specific industry or technology problem or challenge.
The goal is to create a minimum viable product (MVP) during the event: an initial version of a product or service that helps test the idea’s viability. In many cases, teams continue developing their MVP after the hackathon, working towards a final, marketable solution. At its heart, a hackathon is a comprehensive, challenge-based learning experience.

The event brings together students from all around the world who study at the University of Pécs, connecting different cultures, disciplines and perspectives through teamwork.
Students from Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek in Croatia have also joined on many occasions, and students from other universities may take part as well. The mix of backgrounds creates opportunities to learn from one another and explore challenges from new perspectives.
