Dr. Jörg Henseler Cím: Research Seminar: Behavioral Research vs. Design Science Research: Implications for Management Research Leírás: Scientific inquiry comprises two complementary streams. Behavioral research is a science of the existing: it asks "How is…?", follows the scientific realist paradigm, relies on Humean causality, and treats truth as something that exists to be discovered. Design science research is a science of the artificial (Simon, 1969): it asks "How can…?", follows the pragmatist paradigm, draws on Aristotle's four causes, and treats truth as something that works. The two differ further in their concepts—attitudes and needs versus instruments and interventions—and in how scholarly papers are structured.

Dr. Prachi Gala Cím: Why CEO Integrity Matters for Risk Taking and Digital Progress Leírás: This research is an exploration of how Chief Executive Officer (CEO) integrity influences CEOs’ risk-taking propensity and subsequently the Digital Orientation (DO) of their firms. This study suggests that high integrity CEOs tend to have lower risk-taking propensity which subsequently leads to lower digital orientation in their firms. The negative impact of CEO integrity on DO is stronger in firms with high R&D intensity. However, high advertising intensity and the presence of Chief Marketing Officers (CMOs) in firms’ Top Management Teams (TMTs) attenuate this negative relationship. The findings of the study make a substantial contribution to an improved understanding of the multifaceted factors that are expediting digital adoption in organizations, offering valuable insights for marketing academics, board members, investors, employees, and customers.
