Research Excellence Discount/Scholarship

General Rules of Scholarships

  • All scholarships under this Regulation shall be fixed at one amount per semester.
  • The Faculty Grants and Scholarships Committee (hereinafter referred to as “the Committee”) is responsible for determining the scholarships on the basis of this Order.
  • The School’s Study Department shall inform the student and the Central Study Department about the scholarships awarded by the Committee.
  • The student may appeal against the decision of the Committee on the basis of Paragraph (2) of Article 5 of the Code of Charges and Benefits of the University of Pécs.
  • The total amount of financial aid awarded to a fee-paying student may not exceed 80% of the semester tuition fee applicable to that student.
  • The Dean has the right to modify the rates of the allowances set out in this Orders and to allocate amounts to the individual items, taking into account the budgetary position of the School for the respective semester. The Committee shall take its decisions within these limits.

Research Excellence Discount/Scholarship

The Research excellence scholarship may be awarded to students of the School who are recipients of the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, Diaspora Scholarship or Christian Youth Scholarship or other self-funded students. 

Students entering the programmes through the central application system (felvi.hu) may not receive this support. Students registering but not appearing (without justification) at professional (educational, scientific, etc.) events organized by the School in a semester may be excluded from the support in the subsequent semester.

Student Research Excellence Scholarship is offered to students who have achieved outstanding research results during their studies at the School. The demonstration of excellence in research performance shall include, but not be limited to, the fulfilment of the following criteria:

  1. publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals,
  2. presenting scientific research results at conferences
  3. other scientific achievements.

Students Research Excellence Scholarship can be given to the three best students in each programme (in all years) at the end of each semester.

The amount of Students Research Excellence Scholarship is determined as follows:

  • 15%, 10%, 5% of the student's tuition fee for the given semester in order of ranking for fee-paying students;
  • €500, €300, €100 for Stipendium Hungaricum, Diaspora or Scholarship for Christian Young People scholarship holder students

Students who wish to get a Students Research Scholarship have to apply for it at the end of the semester through Neptun. The Committee decides after consulting with the Programme Director and the Director of Research.
