Diaspora Project Network - Hungarian Diaspora Platform

Dear Colleagues,

we are pleased to inform you that we created a “Diaspora Project Network” organization at the University of Pécs, at the II. Cultural World Summit of Hungarians (organized between 31st of March and 2nd of April, 2017) with the leadership of dr. Ákos Jarjabka.

The purpose of the Diaspora Network is to preserve the identity of Hungarians who are living scattered around the world; to arrange the development of joint programs, and relationships with the active participation of the cooperating partners and the University of Pécs.

As a new form of cooperation, we would like to create the “Professors for the Hungarian Diaspora Platform (PHDP)” network. In the future, this opportunity can help professors and researchers of Hungarian origin, who live in different parts of the world and work in higher education to share their ideas and to create sustainable joint programs and cooperations.

It would be our pleasure if you would honor us with your reflections or ideas in connection with the initiative. The official founding of the Professors for the Hungarian Diaspora Platform (PHDP) is planned to take place at the I. Ferenc Farkas International Scientific Conference, on the 8th of June, 2018, organized by the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pécs (Hungary).

We sincerely hope that the PTE Diaspora Project Network will generate interest in a wide audience. We published the Founding document, and it is open for perusal at the following link. The document expresses all our aims.  Private individuals are free to join the network.

We also recommend you to check out the Facebook page of the PTE Diaspora project, where you can get all the information about the day-to-day activities of the Network, and we aim to share information there about future programs as well.

Kind regards,

On behalf of the organizing committee:

dr. habil. Ákos Jarjabka
Associate Professor
