Tamás Vasvári earned his degree in economics from the Faculty in 2009. Following this, he worked at the Budapest office of PwC Hungary, initially in the audit department and later as a consultant in the Public Sector group. From 2011 to 2013, he was the risk manager for the municipal portfolio at Garantiqa Creditguarantee Ltd. Since 2013, he has been an auditor at the State Audit Office, where he later held the position of chief auditor and also became a department head. He returned to Garantiqa Creditguarantee Ltd. for the introduction of an international credit guarantee scheme, where he worked as a senior analyst and project manager until 2018. Subsequently, he returned to his alma mater, where he earned his Ph.D. in 2020. Since then, he has been a research fellow and a topic leader in the operations management research group for the project "Increasing the Role of Domestic Companies in the Reindustrialization of the National Economy." His research areas include the current issues and challenges of reindustrialization, the restructuring of value chains, and the examination of economic relationships and spillovers between international and domestic players. Additionally, he has been investigating the management and financing issues of local governments for more than fifteen years, with a focus on soft budget constraints and political favoritism.
