Norbert Szabó graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Pécs with a BA in Applied Economics in 2009 and an MSc in Economic Analysis in 2011. He defended his PhD thesis in 2021, which examined the economic modeling possibilities of the EU's new regional innovation policy (S3).
Since 2014, he has been a research assistant at the MTE-PTE Innovation and Economic Growth Research Group, participating in several research projects at the School. His research interests focus on regional economic development, its economic impacts, and modeling, with a particular interest in input-output and general equilibrium modeling. His work has been published in leading national and international journals.
He is involved in several national and international research projects aimed at developing and applying regional economic growth models. As an assistant professor, he mainly teaches regional and international economics in both Hungarian and English. He has also taught courses in introduction to economics, microeconomics, geographical economics, and multi-sectoral macroeconomic modeling.
