Marianne Szamosmenti obtained her first degree as a primary school teacher of English and Hungarian languages. Her second degree as high school teacher is from the University of Budapest. She worked as a high school teacher of English and Hungarian in two high schools in Pécs.  In the academic year of 1988/89 she worked as an Assistant Instructor of the University of Indiana at Bloomington, Uralic and Altaic Studies Department. Parallelly she took nondegree graduate courses in the English Department (History of American Literature, History of American Theater). From 1989 she has been working as a language teacher at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Business and Economics. Beside Business English in both the Hungarian and English Programs she taught Hungarian language and American Culture and Civilization in the Translator Program. She taught American Culture and Civilization and American Theatre at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Pécs. In 1993-1996 she studied in the Doctoral Program of the Institute of English and American Studies of the University of Debrecen. In 2014-2017 she studied in the doctoral program on Regional Politics and Economics at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Business and Economics with resilient systems as main field of interest. That is why she undertook the translation of Günter Pauli’s Blue Economy case studies (100) and clusters (12) as part of Blue Economy.
