International Teaching Week at our Faculty!

2019. April 25. 10:53

The University of Pécs Faculty of Business and Economics hosted its fifth International Teaching Week between April 15th and 18th. This event provides an excellent opportunity for welcoming guest lecturers at the faculty from all over the world and at the same time, offers participants and local professors a platform for professional development and networking. This year the faculty welcomed 18 guests from 12 countries (Albania, Canada, Finland, Malaysia, and the USA  - just to name a few).

The designated focus of ITW2019 was innovative teaching methods and their application in the business classroom. Two workshops provided the opportunity for international and local participants to acquaint the flipped classroom model and the idea of gamification in the teaching-learning process. Teaching methods were not only discussed and shared during the workshops, they were also applied in the classrooms throughout the week. Meanwhile professors from HAN University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands) delivered their guest lectures as a real-life demonstration of how to use gamification in the classroom an ITW2019 participant from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland) used the flipped classroom model during her guest lecture.

Social programs of the event like the gala dinner, Hungarian crash-course, the Easter Oratorio or the farewell lunch gave on the one hand deeper insight into Hungarian culture and on the other created a pleasant atmosphere for professional networking.

With all this year’s experiences, we already look forward to organizing the next ITW in April 2020, where both former and first-time participants are warmly welcome.
