About Global minds

The Global minds program is a volunteering program, a community accelerator and an educational platform. As a 21st century form of knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer, we aim to provide micro-courses for high school students based on a connected learning model and project-based education while guided by core values of equity, participation, integration, and social connection.

Global Minds wants to become an educational agent that can bridge the gap between social and economic challenges, university and high-schools, and to connect relevant actors. By revitalizing and expanding this network of relationships the program generates a powerful accelerator effect, which develops the training model itself.

Objectives of the program

• connecting young people living and studying in Pécs
• building bridges between universities and secondary schools
• supporting integration of international students into the local community
• developing educational materials channelling contemporary knowledge about science, technology and economics.
• building a community of lecturers who can play an active role in different levels and fields of education (with non-traditional subjects)
• strengthening global characters within local education
• opening new opportunities to international students and local secondary school pupils in unison.
• connecting local companies with younger generations; displaying the agility and talent of young citizens of Pécs.

What does the program give you?

The Global Minds provides opportunities for international students to integrate and create value with and within local communities. Global Minds acts as a community learning / education platform / system that allows you to structure knowledge in your own field of interest, connect it to scale-based competency systems, and develop your own training plans.

Global Minds provides you a complete, educational living-lab. Training plans are developed by support of professionals, and you can teach your own course in real-world educational settings, that is, schools cooperating with organized classes including out-of-school environments. You will be able to use your experience both in the university and in the corporate environment in the future. Every minute you devote to developing a course will pay off multiple times over throughout your career.

During the program you will work with diverse teams so you can develop your skills in motivating, challenging of teams, co-working, inclusion and integration, and in empathy.

How can you apply to be part of the program and what will happen after we accepted your application?

• Register via http://jurideco.hu/kepzes/global-minds and send us your motivation letter about your favourite topic and reason(s) for applying.
• If you will be nominated as “Global minds – teacher” you should elaborate a 5 weeks long course with educational professionals according to OECD Global Competencies and Entrecomp of EU framework.
• If you are ready to show yourself and your topic to students, you will receive the opportunity to do so in a real-life situation!
