Eszter Jakopánecz graduated from the University of Pécs, Faculty of Business and Economics, MSc Marketing programme in 2009. She completed her doctoral studies in 2015. Her dissertation focused on consumer resistance, a specific area of consumer behaviour. Eszter has been working as a market and trend researcher for almost 10 years. 

She joined the Department of Marketing and Tourism as an assistant professor in 2018. Currently, Eszter teaches courses related to marketing, psychology in marketing, service marketing and sustainable consumer behaviour. Eszter played a major role in the development of the department's first blended learning course, the renewed Marketing (BSc) course, which won the Innovative Course of the Year Award from the Association for Marketing Education and Research in 2022. Eszter focuses on sustainable consumption and sustainable consumers in her academic research. She is the managing director of The Hungarian Journal of Marketing and Management, published by the Faculty.
