Societal Impact strategy

The Societal Impact Strategy defines the Faculty’s objectives and performance indicators related to societal impact, moving from earlier, often project-based initiatives towards a more structured, mission-driven and measurable approach.

The strategy builds on the idea that the Faculty’s educational, research and partnership activities should make a tangible contribution to the development of the region and the wider environment. Applied student projects, cooperation with corporate, public-sector and civil partners, knowledge sharing, and initiatives linked to sustainability and responsible management all play a key role in this approach.

For the 2026–2030 strategic cycle, three global, integrated Faculty-level KPIs measure progress in societal impact, in line with the AACSB and BSIS frameworks. These indicators make it possible to track societal engagement, the practical use of research and knowledge transfer activities, and the Faculty’s contribution to responsible and sustainable development.

The targets include achieving at least 100% performance by the end of 2029 in the Societal Engagement and Reach Index (KPI 10, baseline: 50.0%), the Research and Knowledge Transfer Index (KPI 11, baseline: 39.6%), and the Responsible and Sustainable Development Contribution Index (KPI 12, baseline: 40.0%).
