The competition is based on the EcoSim online simulation, in which participants take control of a bike retail store as top management. As managers of the company, the teams have to make decisions on various strategic issues concerning finance, marketing, HR and investments, keeping in mind issues such as return on investment, profitability, customer and employee satisfaction.
The GearBike simulation cup is open for participation to all students enrolled at the University of Pécs. The simulation runs in Hungarian and English language, allowing students of the English language programmes to compete with their Hungarian fellow students.
The registration of teams with 1-5 students is expected, with the designation of the team captain.
Deadline for registration: 08 November 2023, 12:00 P.M.
Prices:
I. prize: 75.000 HUF/team
II. prize: 50.000 HUF/team
III. prize: 25.000 HUF/team
Conducting the competition
Test round: This is optional and does not count towards the competition result. This gives you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the simulation. Only those who have registered for the test round can participate in the qualifiers.
Qualifiers and semi-finals: Participating teams are assigned to virtual markets, where the teams in the same market will compete against each other. Based on the criteria given in the simulation, the first place in the market must be obtained by the end of the 4th decision round. The first-placed teams in each market advance to the semi-finals.
Simulation final: The market winning teams from the semi-final advance to the final where 5 teams participate.
Presentation final: The five teams that reached the simulation final present a topic related to the simulation received after the simulation final. The winners will be announced based on the evaluation of the professional jury and the results achieved in the simulation.
