UP Simulation Cup – call for contest 2025 spring

2025. March 27. 10:39

Register with your team of 1-5 persons for a business simulation contest; test yourself as a business manager! Be the leader of a beverage manufacturing company!

The competition is based on the EcoSim online simulation. During the simulation, participants assume control of a virtual FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) company as top management. Acting as company leaders, teams must make strategic decisions across various areas such as finance, marketing, HR, and investments, while keeping in mind factors like return on investment, profitability, and customer and employee satisfaction.

The FMCG Cup is open for participation to all students enrolled at the University of Pécs. The simulation runs in Hungarian and English language, allowing students of the English language programmes to compete with their Hungarian fellow students.

Implementation of the contest

Test round: this is optional is not calculated into the result of the contest. It is an opportunity to introduce the programme, and to get to know the consequences of decisions.

Qualifiers: the participating teams will be drawn to virtual markets where teams on the same market will be competitors to each other. On the basis of the measurement system given in the simulation, position one must be reached on the market by the end of the 4th round of decisions. The winner of each market will automatically get into the semi-final or the final.

Simulation final: The winning teams of the markets will automatically get into the final of 5 persons; also, teams in position 2 can get there, depending on the number of qualifiers. Teams gaining position 2 will be ranked on the basis of their relative scores, i.e. their proximity to position one on their market will be considered.

Final presentation: the 5 finalist teams from the simulation will have the opportunity to present their strategy, where the winners will be announced based on the assessment of the professional jury and the results of the simulation.
