NetSci, the International School and Conference on Network Science, is the flagship conference of the Network Science Society which brings together leading researchers and practitioners working in the emerging area of network science. This year the conference was held in Maastricht where Erik Braun presented a joint research with Sándor Juhász and Tamás Sebestyén. In the study, they broadly analyze that the supplier links from domestic firms to MNEs can boost the export performance of domestic firms, supporting the spillover effects based on direct links between the groups. There is the question, why is the export share of domestic companies so low? The answer is that there are few supplier links between the domestic firms and MNEs, and the positive external effects cannot prevail.
