Tamás Sebestyén was invited to the University of Stavanger to hold a seminar. The title of the seminar was "From Foreign Investment to Domestic Development: The Role of Production Network Structure". The takeaway was that the benefits of foreign investment depend on the shape of the networks that form around these firms. Connect domestic firms into those networks, and foreign investment stops being an isolated pocket of efficiency and becomes a real channel for learning and growth.
Tamás also served as a discussant for Raj Kharel's 50% seminar and also participated in a podcast recording (coming soon).
