The HR Strategy focuses on the long-term retention and development of high-quality human resources. The School applies consistent principles to recruitment, performance evaluation, and career development, supporting the achievement of both its teaching and research objectives. Particular emphasis is placed on developing the next generation of full professors and maintaining a motivating and well-balanced working environment.
The HR Strategy of the University of Pécs Faculty of Business and Economics aims to ensure lawful and predictable employment practices and foster employee engagement during the 2026–2030 period. It is built on four fundamental employment principles: responsible employment; equal treatment and diversity; employee well-being; and employee communication and dialogue.
The Strategy comprises three horizontally aligned HR systems: recruitment and career progression; compensation and performance management; and training and development. The career progression system encompasses both academic and organisational career paths. The compensation system is linked to the School’s Performance Evaluation System and provides rewards upon appointment as a full professor, upon attaining the title of Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, upon habilitation, or upon earning a PhD degree.
During the 2026-2030 cycle, the School introduced a Personal Development Plan system linked to performance evaluation. The system supports and monitors individual development in teaching methodology, academic career progression, leadership, digitalisation, internationalisation, innovation, and ESG competencies.
All three pillars of the HR system directly support the first objective of the School’s strategy: maintaining high-quality human resources, while also contributing to the achievement of its research, internationalisation, and societal impact objectives.
