18th Conference of the Economic Modelling Society

The 18th Conference of the Economic Modelling Society took place in Veszprém on 21-22 June 2024. On the opening day of the conference, members of our research group gave several presentations. A research explored how economic duality can be measured using a network-based approach with input-output data (Zita Iloskics, Tamás Sebestyén, Dóra Longauer), while another one examined the relationship between the vulnerability of global value chains and the structure of production inputs within input-output networks (Erik Braun, András Gyimesi, Tamás Sebestyén, Dóra Longauer).

In a later session, was also discussed the short- and long-term effects of rewarding on cooperation in a game-theoretic framework based on the prisoner’s dilemma (Emese Braun, Tamás Sebestyén). Other talks focused on how the structure of global value chains has changed during crises such as the financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic (Erik Braun, Tamás Sebestyén), and how alternative technologies may affect regional resilience, analyzed through a computable spatial general equilibrium model (Norbert Szabó, Emese Braun, Tamás Sebestyén, Zsolt Bedő).
