Aim of the programme

The aim of the Master's programme in International Economics and Business is to train economists who are capable of conducting complex economic analyses, decision-making, and strategic planning in a global environment with comprehensive knowledge of international economics, business, and methodology. Students acquire the theoretical and practical foundations of international economic processes, European integration, the operation of foreign trade and financial systems, and modern quantitative and qualitative analytical methods. The training prepares them to take on managerial and expert roles in international companies, governmental and international organizations, financial institutions, and research and development projects. Graduates are also suitable to continue their studies in doctoral training.

The program is an ideal choice for all those who:

  • would like to understand and analyse global economic processes and their impact on the operation of companies and national economies;
  • are interested in European integration, international economic policy and foreign trade systems;
  • would like to acquire high-level methodological knowledge (statistics, econometrics, modelling) and apply it to solve complex problems;
  • aim to design and implement international business strategies, taking into account geopolitical, cultural and sustainability aspects;
  • wish to work in a multicultural environment and it is important for them to develop negotiation and business communication skills in at least two foreign languages;
  • plan to pursue a long-term career as a researcher, analyst or manager in the field of international economics and business.

Specialization opportunities

In the third semester of the training, students can choose from specialization directions. If the student does not wish to choose a specialization, he or she can freely take any of the B2 modul subjects included in the curriculum. If the student wishes to specialize, the following specializations are available to him/her, the completion of which requires the completion of the B2 module subjects listed there.

Regional Development Specialist

The specialization focuses on the economic, social, and institutional dimensions of regional development. It aims to provide students with a solid understanding of regional economic processes, development policies, and the role of local stakeholders in fostering territorial growth. Emphasis is placed on strengthening analytical and project management skills that support the design and implementation of regional development strategies.

Through multidisciplinary perspectives—including economics, community engagement, rural markets, and responsible tourism—students gain practical tools to address regional disparities and promote sustainable development. The specialization prepares graduates for roles in regional development agencies, public administration, consultancy, and international development organizations.

EU Fund and Project Management Specialist

The specialization focuses on the introduction of the regional, cohesion and structural policies of the European Union, on the introduction of the financial, legal and institutional background of these policies. Special emphasis is placed on developing the project generation and management skills and knowledge of the participants in order to provide a strong basis for successful EU subsidy absorption capabilities after the EU accession Montenegro.

The specialization focuses on the development of agricultural enterprises and modern agribusiness management and aims to prepare agricultural entrepreneurs and professionals in the Western Balkans for global and regional market needs.
