Department of Management and Leadership

In our teaching, research and professional partnerships in management, we are committed to academic rigour, responsibility and practical relevance.

Members of our Department contribute to the management of the BSc in Business Administration and Management as programme directors and programme managers. Our Department is responsible for the Hungarian-language MSc in Management and Leadership and the English-language MSc in Management and Leadership. The latter is Hungary’s only EFMD Programme Accredited master’s programme in this field. In addition to our bachelor’s and master’s programmes, the Department is also academically responsible for the Business Coach, Management Trainer, and Regional and Rural Development Specialist postgraduate specialist programmes.

Our faculty members teach courses in other bachelor’s and master’s programmes of the Faculty in areas related to leadership, strategy, organisational behaviour, human resource management, project and process management, change and knowledge management, and business law. In our teaching, we connect theoretical knowledge with real organisational challenges, corporate cases and applied projects. We support the professional development of talented students through student research, mentoring and opportunities to participate in research.

Our research focuses on current issues in leadership, human resources, organisational functioning and change. The FLOW Management Research Centre, our participation in the international CRANET research network, and the biennial Ferenc Farkas International Scientific Conference provide important frameworks for our academic activities. Members of the Department teach and supervise doctoral research in both Hungarian and international doctoral programmes. Our aim is to produce research that achieves international visibility and can also be applied in organisational practice.

As Head of Department, I am committed to preserving our valuable traditions while consciously building upon them. Our work is founded on collaboration, autonomy, accountability and knowledge sharing. In developing our educational activities, we focus on enhancing the student experience, meeting international quality standards and systematically integrating corporate experience into our programmes.

Our Department is an open community. We welcome everyone who would like to think, learn and create value with us as a student, researcher, alumnus or alumna, or professional partner.

Dr Zsófia Ásványi, Habil.
