In accordance with the agreement made between Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Pécs (UP FBE) and l’Ecole Supérieure pour le Développment Economique et Social (hereinafter: ESDES) School of Management, Université Catholique de Lyon, students studying at the University of Pécs can also acquire a BSc and/or MSc degree from the partner university, in addition to their Hungarian certificate.
In this partnership, both institutions open their EFMD accredited programmes for students. Thus, all participants will not only have two degrees but also at least one from an internationally recognized programme.
To whom is the double degree programme recommended?
We recommend the double degree programme to all students who have active student status at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Pécs, in any of the English language BSc or MSc programmes.
Who can apply for the double degree programme?
Those students can apply who have met all necessary preconditions and are willing to study at ESDES for a whole study year (depending on the date of admission, it is semester 2/3 and 3/4 for MSc students; for BSc students, the semesters that apply are semester 5 and 6).
A further prerequisite for participation in the programme is that students applying must have at least an average of achievement of 4.0 in two years at the BSc programme, for MSc students, the required minimum average of the two semesters is also 4.0.
In addition, applicants must possess an ECTS number necessary for the entry to the double degree programme (in MSc programme, depending on the date of admission it must be at least 30/60 ECTS; in BSc the minimum is 120 ECTS) and language skills necessary for understanding the courses (TOEFL 550 or equivalent, B2 language certificate is needed).
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, Diaspora Scholarship, and SCYP Scholarship Holders can not apply for ESDES Double Degree Programme. In case we still receive your application, it will be automatically rejected.

The number of students per year for the training is limited:
- BSc Business Administration and Management: 10 students
- MSc Management and Leadership: 5 students
- MSc Business Development: 5 students
The official language of the institution is English but students can attend French language courses at both schools.
Time and length of study programme
BSc: 2 semesters (semester 5th and 6th has to be spent at the partner university)
MSc: 2 semesters (either semester 2nd and 3rd or 3rd and 4th has to be spent at the partner university, depending on the intake time you had at your home university)
Finances
No tuition fee is charged by the receiving institution, but other expenses have to be covered by the students. Erasmus scholarship can be applied for. A dormitory place is provided.
Our PROGRAMMES in the double degree PARTNERSHIP
Students participating in BSc programme whose original faculty is UP FBE will get a Global Business Development (GBD) bachelor’s degree at ESDES, and also a Business Administration and Management or BSc Tourism and Catering degree at UP FBE, having successfully completed the double degree programme.
Students participating in MSc programme whose original faculty is UP FBE will get an International Business Administration (IBA) or Développer et Entreprendre (DE) master’s degree at ESDES, and also a Management and Leadership or Business Development master’s degree at UP FBE, having successfully completed the double degree programme.
